La Senorita of the River of Our Lady, Queen of Porciuncula, the Gambling Boat of the LA River
Mysterious remnants from a river gambling boat were found near the confluence of the LA River and the Pacific Ocean. These artists help to re-imagine bits and pieces from the casino of that ship.
La Senorita of The River of Our Lady, Queen of the Angels of Porciuncula is an exhibition based on the re-imagined gambling boats riding the currents of the Los Angeles River. Now that the river has been declared navigatable by the Army Coups of Engineers, in addition to kayaking, and fishing (no overhand casting) we propose gambling boats as a shared amusement for the river. Many years ago the gambling ships that floated in Santa Monica bay were banned; the LA River provides a practical venue to bring the gambling boats back to fun-seeking Angelenos.
